Our Story

We think somewhere a little after the world was finally explored, after the industrial revolution and the invention of television, men settled into a cozy life in the suburbs and finally rested on a couch.

While we probably needed the break, we also forgot our place as men. We think of this website, like those cork boards at fishing stores to tell your story. We want to give you permission, a free banner, and a place

In God's Cathedral

This summer I traveled out west to Estes Park, Colarado for our annual family reunion. Estes Park is right outside Rocky Mountain National Park . As an Eagle Scout and outdoorsmen I love to hike and backpack.  So being in a place like RMNP was like heaven on earth. I hiked a total of about 20 miles in that one week and the views were beyond belief. Mountains, fields, lakes, rivers, sRead more...

Extreme 4x4

I was invited by a friend to join him and his buddies on a rock climbing expedition - little did I know that it would be modified 4x4's climbing huge boulders!

During the ride, one of the beefier vehicles sheared the bolts holding his left rear tire off and we had to fashion a log to support the axel and drive out of the forest in THREE wheel drive.  Fun times!

Military Appreciation

My father and I went to Ft. Benning, GA to go to the National Infantry Muesum that had been opened pretty recently. We saw some pretty interesting things while we were there, including \'Iron Mike" ( statue in the picture), some military tanks ( in picture) and POW MIA Memorial. I learned a lot that day, which made my appreciation for our military continue to grow.

Ruta Al Mogote Dominican Republic

On a mission trip in central Dominican Republic, my good friend Andy Miller and I snapped a few pictures with the Buffalo and Company Honor Your Wild Banner as the sun rose over the mountains. The trip started at 4AM and we hiked in the dark up the steep slope for two and a half hours just in time for the sunrise. Honor Your Wild.

Hiking on the Blue Ridge Parkway

My buddy Matt and I spent this day hiking the Rock Castle Gorge Trail along the BRP in southern Virginia, spelunking caves, climbing waterfalls, crossing ravines on fallen trees, and being renewed while enjoying the beauty of the creation.  We were wrapping up our 12 mile loop and came out of the thick woods onto this majestic bald, which begged for a short nap.  I pullRead more...

First trip to the mountains

The summer after I graduated high school in Michigan, I moved to western Kansas to work on a cattle ranch for a few months before college in the fall.  A week before I had to go back to MI, I went to Colorado for an adventure.  My friend took a train west and I met him in Denver.  From there we spent a week in Rocky Mountain National Park and Colorado Springs camping and sleepingRead more...

As an ambitious freshman pursuing a degree in ancient History in college, I eagerly signed up to attend an archaeological survey with a professor in one of my classes. The survey, which took place the summer between my freshman and sophomore years of college, would be conducted over the foothills and grasslands of the outskirts in T'bilisi, Georgia. 11 point

Hunting is a tradition in my family that has passed from generation to generation. It all began with my great grandfather in the backwoods of mississippi, he took my father and grandfather mule deer hunting every season. My grandpa then got his own lease in llano, Texas in the fall of 1975. Me and my father hunt on the same land to this day, this year we celebrated our 35th year in the deeRead more...

small sparks start big fires

The picture attached is my son and 3 of his friends on the beach south of Galveston, Tx.  They went along for the ride for the day as I checked on some things on the beach house.

After a few hours of hanging out and helping out with some chores, it was time for some fun. I had a model rocket kit someone had given us as a gift and some fireworks left over from the foRead more...
